I have some photos of the LEDs in Autometer Ultralight Gauges. Amber didn't have as strong a color contrast as the other colors but that could be due to the aluminum face not reflecting as much of that color light. Your results may vary.
LED bulbs are polarized so if you wire it with positive and negative leads switched, it will not light up, just rotate LED bulb 180 degrees in socket and it will work.
