Condition: Unframed. May show minor wear to edges with some wave to paper consistent with watercolors on paper. Please refer to photos.

Lois Davis was born in La Porte, Indiana in 1924. She is very closely associated with her late husband, fellow artist Harry Davis, whom she was married to for 55 years. After graduating from La Porte High School, Lois received a scholarship to study at Herron Institute of Art, where she was a student for five years. It was there in 1937 that she met future husband Harry, she a student and he a teacher (although not hers). She would go on to marry him after a three month artistic study in Mexico made possible by receipt of the Millikan Award.

Her exhibitions included locations such as the Lafayette Art Center; the Hoosier Salon; On View Downtown Gallery; 16th and Meridian Gallery (no longer exists); the Lyman and Snodgrass Gallery; Indianapolis Museum of Art Alliance Shop; "Facts and Fictions" show at Domont Studio Gallery; and oil paintings for the 42nd annual show of Indiana art at the Herron Museum. Finally, Lois was a member of the Indianapolis Artists Club, where both she and Harry had both been past presidents. (via Fine Estate Art)

Shipping Charges: We ship Primarily via the United States Postal Service, we will sometimes ship via FedEx if we believe we can get it to you just as fast and affordable. No other options are available unless requested prior to bidding and may only be considered at buyers expense. Charges are normally to help us cover costs of material for packaging. With large oversized or expensive items charges may be more to again handle supplies as well as time taken for attention to detail. We try to use new or like new boxes, packing paper, bubble-wrap and like supplies.

International Buyers: We charge shipping based upon the USPS International system. If an amount goes over $50.00 in value we will only ship it with Priority or Express, mail regardless how small an item. That allows for tracking. There's no tracking for first class shipping. Please note import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying. We will not falsify claims.

Insurance: We reserve the right to use or not apply insurance to any package. You are welcome to pay for it and it will be applied on your behalf guaranteed.

Shipping Time Frame: We try to ship within two days of being paid. Although we most likely will not ship Friday after noon until the next Monday. If you have an urgent request please let us know we will try to do our best to serve you.

Guarantee: We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. So if you are not satisfied please contact us once you receive your item and we will handle each transaction in a more than fair way. We do ask if you wish to return something that you the buyer pays for the return.

Indiana Residents: Sales tax will be added to both the shipping charges and the total of your item(s) as required by the state law. You are welcome to submit a tax I.D. Through ebay to be considered tax exempt. You are also welcome to pick an item up during normal business hours.
