This is a stunning antique 10K yellow gold ring from the late Art Deco period featuring a center oval cut bezel set amethyst surrounded by twelve prong set white sapphires. The amethyst and sapphire settings are completely bordered in milgrain detail, with the individual sapphire settings almost appearing heart shaped. The milgrain engraving continues onto the shoulders of the ring which also include lovely repousse flowers. The open work between the individual white sapphire settings together with the open back amethyst setting allow light to really reflect and make this ring sparkle.

This antique ring measures size 5 1/4. The center amethyst is beautifully faceted on both the top and bottom of the gemstone and it measures approx. 10 1/2mm by 9mm. The front face of the ring measures approx. 17mm by 15mm. The ring weighs approx. 2.9 grams. It is clearly marked inside the band with 10K together with a makers mark.

This amethyst and white sapphire ring is in excellent antique condition with light use and wear marks consisting of light surface scratching to the yellow gold band. The amethyst remains secure in its setting with no movement or shaking and showing minimal surface wear. The white sapphires are also secure in their settings. The band of the ring remains round and has not thinned. This is a beautiful piece of period fine jewelry with exquisite detail and design!
