SlotCartel Tire Treatment Jig

Awaiting Restock. It may be 2 or 3 weeks before these are back in stock. If you buy this in the meantime, your order will be shipped once they come back in stock.

What’s it For?

Treating tires softens the rubber and increases grip.

This jig has been made to Treat performance tires in an equal fashion.

If you do not already treat your tires this machine will be of little use to you. If you do already treat your tires, this machine will make life a little easier and less messy to treat tires regularly. For example, I leave my tires on the machine for a week leading up to using them, I apply my treatment fluid a few times a day and let them spin for a few minutes to distribute the treatment equally and to let it work in to the rubber.

The first 3 photos show what it looks like once assembled. The last 5 photos show what youll receive. Additional parts and assembly is required.

Youll need to add the following parts..

Motor Pod (Slotit format) (Inline, Sidewinder & Anglewinder pods will fit)

Motor & Gears

2x Axles

2x Axle Stoppers

2x Brass Bearings

Power Source

Notes & Tips:

Run at around 3 Volts. Use 2x AA or AAA Batteries if you want to have it easily usable in you pit box.

Dont put you face to close when dropping fluid onto the tires, it may spray fluid in your eyes.

Some treatment fluids may dry out and become very sticky, very quickly. Motor may stop.

The Bath below the tires will catch any drips, it can also be filled with fluid, I dont know how well this will work, to much fluid stops the slave tire from spinning due to insufficient friction.

Bearing retainers may need some trimming/sanding to fit the bearings in, this has been made tight like this to accommodate most bearings.

Fit an axle through the bearings when screwing the retaining caps down to ensure they clamp down in alignment. You may also want to glue the bearings once youre confident they are correctly aligned. The bearings need to allow the axle to spin with vertically zero resistance or the slave axle will not spin properly when in use.

You may need some Axle Spacers between the Bearings and the Axle Stoppers, or use very short grub screws in the Axle Stoppers.

Dont forget to Oil your bearings periodically like you would with your slot cars.

The small screws are M2 and they are to fix the motor Pod into place, they may be to small if your motor Pod is well used or if youve had large screws in the Pod before, you may have to raid your Spares box for other screws.
