Polycotton is a good option if you need a blouse just for one party/performance. It is slightly starched.
100% cotton lawn is semi-sheer, not shiny; 100% cotton poplin is less sheer than lawn. Both are good for long-term everyday use.
Silk is a luxury option to be worn on special occasions.
