Maximising food production was one of the vital programs put in place immediately after the commencement of hostilities in September 1939. Vital to this was the work of the Land Army and the tractors from manufacturers such as Fordson. The aircraft is the workhorse of the RAF in 1940, the Hawker Hurricane, in this case hailing from 303 (Polish) Squadron.
