16c Little Bo Peep G HERTEL & Francois Z Haberman COPPER Plate Color Cartouche

Very old antique bookplate print mounted on newer mat. Image area measures 11.5" tall by 7.75" wide. The total print size is 20" tall x 10" wide. Mat measures 13.5 wide by 18.25 tall. Print shows generalized soiling consistent with it's age. We put the age as sometime in the late 1700's as both Hertel & Haberman had died by 1800. This Cartouche print may have been hand colored at a later date in the early 1800's.  What is confusing is that the first reference to Little Bo Peep is in the year 1805. Anyway, it is a great old antique print and highly unique.
