The first and only book written describing the establishment and decline of the Armenian communities in Singapore and Penang, this paper back book offers an intriguing insight into the pioneering Armenian families and the impact they made in their new countries.

 These Armenians who originated from Persia, established Raffles Hotel and the 'Straits Times' newspaper. Agnes Joaquim (Hovakimian) bred the orchid which became the National Flower of Singapore, while St Gregory's Church is the oldest existing Christian Church in Singapore.
