The dustcover seems to have the most issues with edgewear consisting of some creases, small tears on the edges of jacket (there is a little larger rip on the front cover from the bottom edge to Churchills face) and varies rubbings/dings/stains here and there on the jacket (the inside of jacket and outside) itself. The covers themselves have very little edgewear. The pages have the usual yellowing/foxing to them as well But that is all. Beyond that the book is VERY MUCH Intact, Clean, NO VISIBLE RIPS OR TEARS TO ALL OF THE PAGES, and VERY, VERY INTERESTING.
A MUST FOR ANY AVID WORLD WAR 2 COLLECTOR AND/OR ENJOY WINSTON CHURCHILL MEMORIBILIA.
Description: (From Front Flap Of The Dustjacket) This book has Unparalleled Information detailing one of England's Finest Prime Ministers: WINSTON CHURCHILL. Here, in a uniquely fresh, affectionate and spirited biography, is the incomparable Britisher with all his many facets. As a ruggedly individualistic schoolboy, he successfully stymied a series of schools in attempts to teach him the classics, but committed to memory a complete dictionary of quotations when a such knowledge later seemed expedient. As a youthful army officer and foreign correspondent, he looked over the comic-opera Cuban Revolution of 1895; in India he played top-flight polo and evidenced military prowess and further writing talents, carrying these latter activities on to greater glory in the Egyptian Sudan. In the South African Boer War his colorful prisoner-of-war escape from the enemy capital made world-wide news. In WW1 he headed the British Admiralty as First Lord, then served for a time in France as an unorthodox colonel commanding the 6th Royal Scots Fusiliers. The Political History of the Prime Minister is, of course, at the hear tof the book, but Churchill's approach to politics is an unusualvas it is engrossing. Frequently the despair of his colleagues as well as his opposition, he has been in and out of government service for half a century, in a roller-coaster career climaxed by his valorous leadership of the Empire in the most desperate days of WW2......
This publication would make an wonderful addition for any collector of VINTAGE HISTORICAL MILITARY BIOGRAPHIES, ENGLAND'S HISTORY FROM THE LATE 1800's TO MID 1900's and/or Memoribilia dedicated to SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL!!
