The Gloster Gladiator was a British-built biplane fighter. It was used by the Royal Air Force and the Fleet Air Arm and was exported to a number of other air forces during the late 1930s. First flight was on September 12, 1934. It had a 32' wingspan, 27' length, a Bristol Mercury engine, and a top speed of 257 mph.
