Lefton's Historic American Lost Lights Lighthouse "Shinnecock Bay" New York USA

Once upon a time over 1,600 lighthouses marked the shores of America. Beacons of Light guiding mariners safely through the dangers lurking in the darkness, saving the lives of many seafarers. Today, one by one, these lighthouses are falling victim to the elements, modernization and time. For each one that slips away part of our heritage slips away with it.
With this in mind the Lefton Company brings to you the LOST LIGHT series. A collection of limited edition lighthouse replicas of these fallen sentinels so that they may never be forgotten.

Shinnecock Bay Lighthouse was on the south side of Long Island, NY.  The original brick tower was built in 1858 and was 168 ft. tall with a 1st order Fresnel lens. In 1931 an electric light was installed atop a red skeleton tower on the beach near Shinnecock Lighthouse and the lighthouse was discontinued and though it was stable and the locals wanted to preserve it, the Coast Guard set it afire December 1948 and it leaned and eventually fell.
