Welcome to Antiques & Moore!

This listing is for an unusual brass casket or box with inset Sterling Silver hand decorated panels, c. 1900. The top panel is decorated with hand embossed large lily-of-thee-valley floral design with foliage with the design standing in relief and is marked with unidentified signature. The brass banding of the frame has a bright unblemished polished finish. Box is wood lined with chamfered edges and was possibly made as a cigar humidor. The lid is hinged with heavy brass hinges and the box opens and closed correctly. Although we found no mark on the silver, the silver tests to be Sterling.

Measures 3" high, 7 3/4" long and 4 3/4" wide. Weighs 3.3 pounds.

The box is in very excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws.
