This listing is for a sand-tray set that is designed to be easily transported. I created this set of stacking boxes for therapists who do not have a place (or who do not want) a standard-sized sand tray. While relatively small physically, these sand tray boxes allow therapists and clients to work within the conceptually unlimited world of sand tray therapy.

One wooden box serves as a portable sand tray while the other is a carrying case for the figures. Made of stained and varnished pine, both boxes have been reinforced and have multiple layers of paint and varnish so that they are sturdy while remaining lightweight and easy to carry and store. They are water resistant and so can be used with moist sand.

Following sand tray therapy tradition, the bottom of the sand tray box is painted blue (to represent both sea and sky) while the inside of the box cover is painted a sunny yellow. The carrying case is yellow on all of its interior surfaces.

The inner dimensions of the box are 11.75 x 9 x 3 inches. The outer dimensions of the box are 12.5 by 9.75 by 3.25 inches.
