This rare sales receipt from a ladies' clothing store is a great glimpse into the past.

From it, we learn that Mrs. Pitches used her store charge account to buy two pair of socks from The Emporium on Broadway in Long Beach.

After her 15% discount was applied, the total sale was a whopping 59 cents.

The date was March 1, 1920.

On the back of the receipt, we discover that among other things, The Emporium specialized in "hole proof hosiery," gloves and corsets.

Preserved by plastic lamination for easy handling.
