Up for sale is a hand crafted, completed  ColorArt Crewel Picture of an adorable teddy bear sitting and looking at the moon.

It is from the Needle Treasures Collection and adapted from the original design by Crista Kieffer.

The size is 14" x 11". The fabric is stretched and stapled to the plywood backing.  I do have a few mats that might work for this embroidery.  The colors are brown, green, tan, burgendy and red. Email me at the time of purchase to see what might be available at no extra charge.  This embroidery will have to be restretched and attached to backing as the right it is not stretched to the proper size. The only other option would be to have a store provide a wider mat so that the white fabric does not show.

The design is printed on polyester fabric and embellished with crewel stitches. Many of the flowers and leaves are enhanced with crewel stitches as well as the teddy bear himself..

The kit number is 00568 which means it dates to the late 1970s or early 1980s.  The title was MOONLIGHT TEDDY.

Included in the listing is a picture of a kit for this crewel embroidery picture which is shown for reference only as this embroidery does not come with a kit.

Here is the information on the kit:

this one is from Needle Treasures/JCA of a teddy sitting in the moonlight to be done in enhanced Crewel. This kit  number is 00568. This picture was a hand crafted model to a needlepoint kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished or used as a salesmen's sample. I was able to acquire many of these samples. See other listings.

I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website:

"Due to the death of our owner, Alan S. Getz, JCA, Inc. has ceased operations indefinitely.

We would like to thank our loyal customers who have supported JCA for over 50 years.

JCA manufactures premium needlecraft products and distributes fine knitting yarns. We are an amalgamation of three companies-Paternayan Brothers (started in 1939), Elsa Williams (started in 1960) and Reynolds Yarns (also started in 1960.
