Up for sale is a completed and handcrafted crewel stitch picture. It is a colorart print on fabric which is then embellished with stitchery.  It is a charming picture of two children flying a kite.  The title is: Flyin High and the kit number is 00617.  Based on this number, this model dates back to the late 1980s.

It is from the Needle Treasures Collection and designed by Jim Daly.

For anyone who would rather do the embroidery for this design, I also have a kit for sale. Please see other listing.

The size is 17 x 14.  The mat is pretty dirty and will need to be cleaned or replaced.  I can provide an oval mat that could be swapped out with the current mat. There is one picture that shows what an oval mat would look like.

Included in the listing is a picture of a kit which is shown for reference only as this embroidery does not come with a kit.

FLYIN' HIGH

CREWEL EMBROIDERY KIT

JIM DALY DESIGN

KIT NUMBER #00617.

Adorable scene of two children in the country flying a kite.  The boy is holding a string and they are both looking up in awww!.  The true innocence of these children have been captured in this scene.

The model was done on a design printed on 100% poly fabric with 100% crewel wool yarn and 100% cotton floss.

On the back there is a label indicating that this was the photo model. That is what makes this so unique because it was the initial hand crafted model which was used to take a photo that went on to the kit packages. So, this crewel is the actual model that shows in the picture of the kit.

This picture was a hand crafted model to a needpoint kit which would have been on display in a store to show the prospective buyers how the item will look when finished or used as a salesmen's sample. I was able to acquire many of these samples. See other listings.

I learned recently that the name on many of these finished pieces identified the company as JCA Inc. with an address in Massachusettes. They evidently ceased operations and will not be making/distributing anymore needlecraft kits. These finished piece from kits are already hard to find and will only be offered occasionally perhaps on the internet. Per the JCA website:

"Due to the death of our owner, Alan S. Getz, JCA, Inc. has ceased operations indefinitely.

We would like to thank our loyal customers who have supported JCA for over 50 years.

JCA manufactures premium needlecraft products and distributes fine knitting yarns. We are an amalgamation of three companies-Paternayan Brothers (started in 1939), Elsa Williams (started in 1960) and Reynolds Yarns (also started in 1960.

Payment with paypal within 3 days of sale.

Will ship within 1 business day to US addresses only. Any other international shipments will be handled through Ebays new program at an additional expense.
