Pronounced “Sharrkra”, Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “disc”, “wheel” or “turning” when translated to English. In traditional Indian teachings the chakras are vortexes of energy believed to exist in the surface of the etheric double of man. Said to be the epicentre of energies emitting from points on the physical body & It is through these focal points that we receive & transmit energy.
There are 7 main chakras throughout our body and these are connected to our being on several different levels, physical, emotional, mental & spiritual. When any of our chakras get blocked or are out of balance the effects will be felt both emotionally & physically. We know that negative thoughts, pollution, chemical enhancements in our foods, stress & worry etc. can affect us both physically & mentally, similarly, they can also cause chakra imbalances & blockages.
