"In 1986, George Barris, an American free-lance photojournalist, decided to publish photographs he had taken of Marilyn Monroe in June and July of 1962 in California. They were probably the last ever taken of her alive. These photos, as well as text (from interviews, of which only one was recorded) were to become a book, an illustrated biography that would, in Marilyn's words, "set the record straight" - it was never finished."
This and our other photographs of Marilyn Monroe are from the collection of photos taken by Barris in 1962, and printed in the 1980s.
