It all started on 15th August 2011 at The Etihad against Swansea City
and it took Sergio Kun Aguero just eight minutes to notch his first goal for
the club. When he scored a spectacular second in stoppage time at the end of
the match, the Manchester City fans knew they had witnessed something special.
He had only been on the pitch for half an hour. Fast-forward a little more than
six years and few could have imagined the incredible impact Aguero has had on
the history of the Club. In scoring the third and crucial goal in City's
thumping 4-2 victory at Napoli, then the Series A leaders, Aguero was amassing
his 178th goal for City in just 264 appearances. Eric Brook's benchmark had
finally been broken and in record-breaking time - his incredible goal to game
ratio surpasses all others in Premier League history. Aguero has scored some
classic goals in that time; the hat trick against Bayern Munich; the screamer
against Manchester United in 2013, and the goal from an impossible angle
against Liverpool amongst them. But none had the impact of that goal against
QPR, 93 minutes and 20 seconds into the final game of the 2011/12 season and
unquestionably the most memorable goal in Premier League history. So sit back
and relive every single one of the 178 goals and listen to the man himself
discuss his historic achievement.
