THE CORONATION CROSSING THE BORDER - 4488 'Union of South Africa' by John Austin FGRA

One of the famous LNER 'Streamlined' trains and the first to run from London to Edinburgh, the 'Coronation' remains one of the most striking trains ever to run in Britain. The four A4 locomotives intended to pull the train were each outshopped in Garter Blue and Red with silver lettering and named for Dominions of the British Empire. The train is seen with 4488 'Union of South Africa'  at its head.
