Dutch Masters Exhibit Catalog
1942 Benefit Event for Queen
Wilhelmina at Duveen Galleries
in New York City
Important Note:  This catalog
was for the exhibit at Duveen Galleries
In New York City, Oct 8 to Nov 7, 1942,
to benefit Dutch Queen Wilhelmina,
due to the devastation of WWII.
(other exhibits took place elsewhere
and each had its own catalog!)

Very unique and impossible to
find Catalog from 1942 of the
Dutch Masters Exhibit at Duveen
Galleries in New York City, for
the benefit of Queen Wilhelmina
of The Netherlands. Among those
sending their precious artwork is
King George VI; A MUST SEE is
the sheer magnitude of those
who served on the committee,
those whose works were inclu-
ded, and those who created the
work....

The condition of the book is
clearly shown in the photos;
the soft covers are frayed; but,
being larger than the pages
themselves, have protected
the pages....  Clearly, this book
is almost 80 years old, and the
yellowing is normal...the front
cover needs to be re-fixed to the
book (I leave that to someone
who knows what they're doing.)

Contained within in these pages
(165 in all) is the heart of the
human spirit - worldwide - as this
exhibit was undertaken for the
benefit of the Dutch Queen, and
among those contributing to the
effort were Eleanor Roosevelt,
Princess Juliana, and the British
King George VI.  The committee
which undertook this huge event
included luminaries, too: Lord
Halifax (at the time, British
Ambassador to the U.S.), and
Mayor LaGuardia of New York,
among many others! It’s easy
to imagine their heartfelt parti-
cipation being so contagious
as the precious paintings began
to appear for this exhibit at the
time of the devastation of World
War II in Europe!
Shipping is USPS Priority and
