3111a - Steam fog. An icy wind has caused humid air to condense overthe warmer surface of this British Columbia lake, creating a thick layer of steam fog
3111b - Waterspot. A swirling funnel of waterthan can be just as dangeerous as a land-based twister, spotted over Lake Ontario, near Toronto.
3111c - Lenticular clouds. Also called UFO clouds because of their disc-like shape, like these ones in Jasper National Park, Alberta, ofter form over mountains.
3111d - Light pillars. Although they look like something out of sciece fiction, spectacular light pillars appear when tiny ice crystals in the air reflect light from artificial sources – in this case, the city lights of North Bay, Ontario.
3111e - Moon halo. Airborne ice crystals refract the moonlight on a chilly night in Whistler, British Columbia, creating the eerie rings of a moon halo.
