Vintage National Washboard Company Glass and Wood Washboard. Marked with "The National Washboard Co, NRA (National Recovery Administration) Member, We do our Part, No. National 864, Trademark Registered, Made one the USA, Chicago, Saginaw, Memphis."  Made of wood and has glass scrubbing board which is ribbed on one side and more flush on the other. Measures 18" tall and 8.5" wide. 

Used, shows wear expected for age which is thought to be between 1933 and 1936. See history below from Wikipedia. All nails in place, one looks shiny and not original. The rest are rusted. Wood Frame is worn and discolored and has a little wiggle but intact. Great collectable decorating piece. Sold As Is.

History from Wikipedia The National Recovery Administration (NRA) was a prime New Deal agency established by U.S. president Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933. The goal of the administration was to eliminate "cut throat competition" by bringing industry, labor, and government together to create codes of "fair practices" and set prices. The NRA was created by the National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA) and allowed industries to get together and write "codes of fair competition." In 1935, the US Supreme Court declared that the NRA was unconstitutional, ruling that it infringed the separation of powers under the US constitution. It was abolished January 1, 1936.
