All of the art work and collectibles being sold by Adams-Byrd Fine Art & Antiques have been collected and selected one at a time by the proprietor, an art historian with many years of training and experience in university art history departments, museums, galleries, and historic sites both in the U.S. and abroad.  The business has been based in the Washington, D.C. area for many years.   The art and collectibles that we are offering to eBay buyers are special and unique pieces that have been carefully “curated” by us. 

 

This beautiful mid century modern teak trivet looks like a stylized abstraction of the curved center of the body of a fish (minus the head and tail).  The parallel slats are held by two metal “spines”.  This unique MCM trivet is about 13/16” tall.  It is about 8 ¾” across (between the parallel ends).  The eleven center slats are each ¼’ thick, and the two end slats are under ½” thick.  The longest center slat is 8 5/8” long.

 

This utilitarian and functional piece is also a work of art that you might want to hang on the wall (either vertically or horizontally).  This is one of the coolest vintage trivets in our collection.  It is probably Danish.  We believe that it is more likely that it is Scandinavian rather than Japanese (even though we have seen some great 1950s and 1960s modern trivets from Japan).

 

This vintage modern trivet is in good used condition.  With time and use it has developed a very nice patina. 

 

This would be a great stand or base on which to display a special piece of mid century modern pottery or glass.

Payment: For auction items, payment is expected within 3 days of purchase.  After 4 days, an unpaid item case may be opened with eBay so that the item can be relisted or second chance offers may be made to other bidders.  We require immediate payment for Buy it Now items.

 

Shipping: We aim to ship within 3 business days of receiving payment, however delays may occur – in the event of a delay, we will update you on the progress of your shipment.  We always ship with delivery confirmation / tracking.
