Welcome to Antiques & Moore!

This listing is for a lovely 19th Century panel cut glass cologne/perfume bottle with embossed Sterling Silver lid, c. 1890. The bottle has a rectangular shape with ribbed/ panel cut sides. The Sterling Silver lid screws onto the bottle and covers the original glass stopper. Both the lid and the collar are marked with French hallmarks although the Minerva stamp is quite worn as is the maker's trademark stamp. We do guarantee that the Silver is Sterling and that the hallmarks are intact (see photos). This nice bottle was most likely part of a traveling toiletries set that would have been fitted into a wooden travel case.

The ribbed glass body is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws although there is a tiny no-harm internal air bubble in the glass on both the stopper and the bottle. Bottle has perfume residue on the inside base of the bottle which we have not tried to remove. The silver lid is in very good condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only minor signs of normal wear. Lid screws snugly onto the collar and the bottle does not leak. The bottle and lid do reflect very minor signs of normal wear.

Measures 3 3/4" high (as shown), 2 1/2" high (to top of glass bottle), is 2 1/2" long and 1 3/4" wide.  Weighs 8.4 ounces (as shown) with the Sterling Silver lid weighing 18.4 grams.
