Description

This authentic antique oil lamp dates back to the Medieval period, specifically to the 11th-12th century AD (391 – 597 AH). The lamp was crafted in Central Asia, more specifically, in the Semirechye region. It is made of high-quality green glazed pottery and has a cylindrical fluted form with a closed body. The long spout slightly tapers towards the tip, and the lamp features a large leaf-shaped thumb-piece, adding elegance to its design. Overall, this oil lamp is a beautiful and unique piece that provides a glimpse into the Islamic art and culture of the era in which it was created.
