This is the latch spindle that is screwed into the top rail of the panel of a 2005 Summer Infant top-of-stair Extra Tall white metal gate.  Model is 07360.  It is the piece that hooks onto the latch guide mounted to the wall, and secures the gate shut.  Please note that hardware for the various Summer Infant gate models are not necessarily compatible with each other.
