Sadly, this watch was only worn once, when my father was in Orlando, Florida with his third and last wife, who wanted to see the Disney resort and park there. To accommodate her, he drove a semi-golf cart. But when he returned to Los Angels the walking pneumonia had progressed to far and his bad heart gave out.
The watch would be 100% new except that after the perfect connecting link, three of the all gold color links on the top are in need of a polish.
I personally would take it to a jeweler, although the blemish does not cause any scratch or abrasion that a finger can detect.
The stunning white face of the watch is perfect for clarity since there are golden lines for the hours.
The crown (center) of the watch is SURROUNDED BY THE FAMOUS
GOLD ROUND RING unique to Model 8123-6070.
The entire backing is Stainless Steel, making the watch "water resistant."
This doesn't mean you should wear it while diving. However, if you get it wet, no problem. You drop it in the sink, toilet, or swimming pool? No problem.
The SEIKO manufacturing standards are made in Japan, as are the watch movements, in the city of Shizukuishi. Their high-end line, "Grand Seiko," continues to have ALL their watches manufactured in Northern Japan. However, their other watches are made by subsidiaries overseen by Japan, in Asian countries, that includes China, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Having their head start in the steel industry, and for the lengthy period they have been manufacturing one of the world's best and most popular mixed-use watches (tennis to the opera), they have essentially "prepaid for their product" by owning so much of the steel business.

THIS IS FULLY GOLD color on the ENTIRE outside except for the crown (the timepiece) which is purposely made with the stainless steel that makes up the remainder of the watch - so that the gold, lined, circle going around timepiece - the reason this particular watch is preferred by pilots, military, the famous athletes, and among the norm, for both casual and formal events.

This watch will generally last forever, including the long running quartz crystal, but I have been unable to wind it, but a jeweler I took it to did and it ran for two months and now I can't wind it again, but how easy to replace it is explained below.
The watch will be triple bubble wrapped so that each link and face of the watch cannot have any pressure against it during delivery. I personally take the time to wrap the it around TWO EXTRA TIMES to cover the four sides of the "ball" of bubbles - and it will be sent to you in a box or envelope that is both padded and bible wrapped itself.
Since the watch is new except for the three links, I want to make sure you can clean them and own a one time worn piece, such as when you do a test drive before you buy a car.The Longines Admiral 1200 I did have was sold as soon as I posted, it, to both the displeasure of the buyers and myself because the bidding went well past what would have been the "Buy It Now" cost.
SO choose wisely, but quickly. (I did ask my friend who runs a pawn shop and he told me that the back of all Seiko watches detaches and the quartz can be replaced, since after my father died 16 years ago, I never touched it until now.) Also be aware there is a very nice blue boxed vintage Seiko SX gold tone quarry analog watch with a black face up for a "Buy it Now" price of $39.99, which comes with the extra quartet "battery" I spoke of using in this one, so evidently it is easy and cheap to replace, unlike the gift itself.
