Up for sale is a signature of Edward Alenius from 1940 on his letterhead. Letter was folded to fit in his personalized envelope.

Letter was sent July 30, 1940 to Decatur Millard of Kansas City.  Both were well known photographers of their time.

Letter was typed with a typewriter and says the following.

Yours of Apr.22 reaches me only today; I noticed it was directed to my old address at Jamaica which no doubt is the reason for the considerable delay.

Your remarks in reference to my one-man-show ate most gratefully received. I often get similar letters and feel somewhat guilty at times. When I work on a picture for a long while and then make dozens of copies of it also very often it begins to look bad to me, while to anyone else who might see the picture, perhaps it looks fine.

The show referred to has been traveling now for nearly three years and I imagine that the mounts and perhaps even the prints must be soiled by this time.

I want to thank you for your expressions and am very glad to have been able to exhibit in your club. Please forward my appreciation to your members. I regret exceedingly that the distance makes it impossible for me to give a talk at your club at present.

Very sincerely,
[Signature]
Edward Alenius

Would be a neat item to display with any of his framed original pictures you have displayed.

Please ask questions before purchase and look at pictures as they are part of the description.

Thank you
