Terrific Super Short Print (SP) Blue Wave Refractor 1st Autograph Card with collectible On-Card signature of Mets' 2013 1st Round draft pick and rising young superstar Dominic Smith. Smith had a breakout season last year and even more impressive season so far this season. Currently in major league leaders in many offensive categories, including leading all players in doubles (15) and top 20 in (batting average (.325+), slugging pct. (.625+), OPS (1.025+), RBI (30+)! He has not only won a permanent spot in the middle of Mets’ starting lineup, he has become one the League’s most dangerous hitters. Having just turned 25, he is one of baseball’s best young stars!

Because of his impressive season last year, his remarkable performance to date this season hand his clear Superstar potential, in Baseball’s most important city, Smith’s cards have been in heavy demand, increasingly hard to find and steadily climbing in value.

Remarkably, however, Smith’s card’s are still quite undervalued compared to similar young superstars- surely, this will change as Smith continues to impress. To that end, I strongly suggest that you obtain his cards sooner than later, as the prices are indeed climbing fast, and will climb even faster as the supply comes closer to selling out.

This simply is one of Smith’s most collectible auto cards issued and currently available! In fact, it is, and always will be, one of the very best Smith cards!

This attractive, top quality card was pulled from the 2013 Bowman Draft Picks and Prospects set. Specifically, it is a hard to pull SP “Blue Wave" Refractor parallel of Smith’s base prospect auto card for the set, Card No. BCA-DS.

As such a parallel it has the low print run of only 50; this particular card is serial-numbered "49/50" on the back of the card.

In addition to the low print run, these Bowman Prospect Autos are especially collectible b/c they feature ON-Card signatures hard signed in thick blue marker as opposed to a less attractive and more common sticker auto. This particular auto is bold, "clean" (w/out smudges or other ink blemishes), and well-placed.

In addition to the on-card auto, these prospect autos from this set are especially collectible because they include a draft picks' first official autograph card released. Accordingly, this particular auto card includes the "1st Bowman" Mark on its face, establishing that this is the very first card issued by Topps/Bowman (the only card company officially approved by MLB) for the particular player. Such “1st Bowman” autos are, and alwayse will be, a player’s most collectible card issued.

SP colored refractor “1st Bowman” auto cards are especially collectible, in demand and increasingly hard to find available for purchase for superstars like Smith. Indeed, at the time of this posting, there were very few colored SP parallel refractor Smith Bowman 1st Autos for sale on eBay, especially SSP /50s, each of which are selling for hundreds of dollars. Barring significant injury, as stated above, the value of these handful of /50 1st Bowman autos almost surely are only going to continue climbing in value and price as the finite supply inevitably only further diminishes.

Finally, but particularly important, I believe this card is in excellent overall condition with no significant defects or blemishes. Indeed, it is surely better than average condition for similar auto cards from the set that I have seen and thus, appears to be at least a legitimate candidate for professional grading (I do not grade my own cards so you do not have to worry about this being a grading reject). Most impressive is the card’s superb refractor surface, which is remarkably “clean” (no scratches, dings, scuffs or even printing lines) and smooth! The card’s corners/edges appear sharp and with no significant wear, chipping or dings (there is some extremely small amount of wear on the upper left corner that is in my opinion quite minor and barely noticeable. The card’s centering appears excellent. While I cannot guarantee a particular grade and you should not expect perfection, (nothing truly is and even near perfect cards that grade 9.5 sell at a considerable premium), I truly and sincerely doubt you will be disappointed in this card’s overall condition and guarantee I have not failed to report any material flaws (I do provide no-hassle full returns)!
