256 kilobits (32,768 words × 8 bits) of Ferroelectric RAM High endurance: 10 billion reads/writes Able to retain data without using backup battery SPI communication (25 MHz max. clock frequency)
FRAM Click brings 256Kbits (32,768 words × 8 bits) of Ferroelectric
Random Access Memory to your design. It features a Fujitsu MB85RS256A
which uses the ferroelectric process and silicon gate CMOS technologies
for forming the non-volatile memory cells. It is able to retain data
without using a back-up battery. The memory can be used for 10 billion read/write operations and does not take a long time to write data, unlike Flash memories or EEPROM. Note: This board is designed to use 3.3V power supply only.
Because FRAM is able to write at high speed even though it's a
non-volatile memory, it is suitable for log management, storage of
resume data, etc. FRAM Click communicates with the target board
microcontroller via mikroBUS SPI (MISO, MOSI, SCK, CS), RST and PWM
lines. The maximum SPI operating frequency is 25 MHz.
The board contains two useful pins: HOLD and WP. The HOLD pin is used
to interrupt serial I/O without de-selecting the chip. The WP (write
protect) pin is used to control writing to a status register. mikroBUS Click Boards Overview
Click boards come with header pins that you must solder yourself. After
that, they just plug directly into a mikroBUS socket. mikroBUS is a
specially designed plug-and-play pinout standard. Newer (v7) development
systems manufactured by mikroElektronika, which we carry, have mikroBUS
sockets already built in. You also can connect Click boards to many other popular platforms via these adapters: - PC — Click USB Adapter (MIKROE-1433)
- Arduino — Arduino UNO click shield (MIKROE-1581)
- Raspberry Pi — Pi click shield (MIKROE-1512)
- BeagleBone Black — BeagleBone click shield (MIKROE-1596)
- STM32F3 Discovery — STM32F3 Discovery Shield (MIKROE-1447)
- STM32F4 Discovery — STM32F4 Discovery Shield (MIKROE-1481)
- Stellaris LM4F120 LaunchPad / Tiva TM4C123G LaunchPad — Click BOOSTER PACK (MIKROE-1363)
In addition, it is royalty-free to add mikroBUS to your own designs. Visit the mikroBUS Category to see the full line of Click boards. FRAM Add-on Module Resources |
