This unique luxury magicians' wand has been hand crafted by a working magician (me) for working magicians, hobbyists and collectors. Each Helix wand is constructed over three days from nine main parts to create the design, which is "in" the wood rather than "on" the surface. Ribbons of veneer are hand cut and sandwiched throughout the main body which is then hand turned down to the working diameter, thereby exposing the 'helix' patterns. Owing to the nature of the process, no two wands will ever be exactly the same. Rather like a fingerprint; similar, but unique.
Individually weighted and balanced... The addition of stainless steel inserts not only gives a nice weight, and some strength to the tip joints, but also provides excellent balance; a feature that has received many great compliments from expert wand flourishers around the world.
Each wand is signed and comes in its own presentation box (also hand made by me).
Extra. Free with every wand:
I will include a prototype wand quiver/sleeve for you to try. It clips onto your inside jacket pocket, on to your waistcoat/vest sleeve hem, or perhaps your trouser waist or belt. It includes a pair of padded magnets that hold the bottom of the quiver in position (to avoid "swing out") by leaving one magnet inside the sleeve and placing the other magnet into the adjacent outer pocket of your jacket. The quiver provides an excellent stowage facility for your wand, allowing it to be easily retrieved. With practice it can also be used to assist in the vanish of your wand!
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
These wands have been made in small numbers for many years for those in the know, but were more recently produced in higher numbers under my new "Haschka & Hounds" trade name. H&H launched at the Blackpool Magic Convention in February 2020 where The Helix wands were selling for £120.00, but I am now making my residual stocks available at a greatly reduced price in order to make space for further projects.
Wand Types:
There are several types of wood used for the 'bodies' of The Helix wands, with each species giving their own colour variation. Oak is the lightest colour, with walnut, meranti, sapele, giving alternative shades and colours according to your taste. The darkest and heaviest wood used is ebony (all timbers sustainably sourced) which gives a super classy take on the traditional black and white look.
All tips are made from locally sourced holly, as are the veneers which course through the bodies to create The Helix pattern.
*There are three different primary shapes of tip as follows (this listing is for one type only, as specified at the top of the description):
Straight/Square Cut - Traditional square ended.
Bullnose - Slightly rounded ends. Suitable for work with cups and balls as less likely to damage the cups.
Javelin - Developed by and exclusive to Haschka & Hounds, these tapered ends not only look great but make your p*** t****** vanish ultra smooth.
