Castle Donington 1981!
An unrepeatable series of 30 photos capturing British rock icons SLADE performing onstage on a very rainy Saturday in August 1981 at the Castle Donington 'Monsters of Rock Festival! Photographed in taxing conditions due to the inclement weather, we just about scraped together this 'rugged' series of images of their storming set! Enjoy!
Here's what the 'Slade in England' website has to say about their performance:
"You can't hold a party in the middle of a damp Saturday afternoon and expect all the guests to stick around to the end. Not, that is, unless your name is Slade.
Although hampered by the worst rain of the day, Slade conquered the proceedings and absolutely stole the show. It wasn't totally surprising. Slade are undisputedly a festival band -- they know the ropes -- and they work their best at HM extravaganzas where their glossy over the top antics bash down every barrier."
