Today we are happy to offer for sale a fabulous antique Victorian lidded figural carafe! This exquisite piece is finely crafted and detailed. Of Continental origin, it features a beautiful cut-crystal body decorated with two bands of diamond cut squares on a grid, with a honeycomb-design band around the middle and larger honeycomb band at the top. The bottle is adorned with an ornate silver-plated top structure composed of handle, spout, and lid. The whole is decorated in fanciful neo-Baroque designs with leafed and rococo swirls; the lid is topped by a delicate flame finial while the spout is adorned with the face of Bacchus surrounded by grape clusters and leaves. This beautiful carafe will add elegance to any fine silver collection. Carafe presents well and is in good antique condition, with minor wear, tarnish, and patina commensurate with age and use. There is scattered loss to silver plating; base has a small manufacturing flaw/ground down edge. Add gracious refinement to any tablescape in your home this holiday season with this fabulous and rare figural carafe! Fresh to the market!
