Pro Body Tool 3.0 Pinewood axle drill guide for rail riding rider

For a fast car, axle slots or holes must be absolutely square to the car body and parallel to each other. For a really fast car, a properly set up Rail Rider will help you dominate your competition. One of the hardest parts about correctly setting up a Rail Riding car has been getting the rear alignment just right. With the New Derby Worx Pro Body Tool 3.0  the rear end setup of your pinewood derby car is a breeze.

The Derby Worx Pro Body Tool 3.0 will allow you to accurately drill  your rear holes on a 3 degree negative cant.  The Pro Body Tool 3.0 also allows proper drill height for the front dominate wheel using a 2.5 degree bend to keep the car nice and level.  The tool features 3 hardened steel bushings for 1000's of drills with out any worry of damaging the tool.  Never has such a quality drill tool been offered at this price point.

Introducing the Pro-Body Tool 3.0, a precision-machined, aluminum device with hardened drill bushings that will improve the speed of your pinewood derby car through accurate axle mounting. The Pro-Body Tool 3.0:

  1. Ensures accurate axle positioning by allowing you to drill precise 3 degree negative cant guide holes into the existing axle slots with a hand drill!(1) The guide holes ensure that the axles are mounted square and true on the car. Improved axle mounting accuracy equals greater speed!
  2. Serves as a guide for drilling accurate axle holes with a hand drill.(2) Again, improved axle mounting accuracy equals greater speed!
  3. Equipped with a third hole to easily drill the dominate front hole at the proper height with a 2.5 degree bent axle, for greater alignment accuracy and for faster performance.

The Pro-Body Tool 3.0 #44; For BSA is equipped with a #44 guide hole for use on BSA, PineCar, and other kits with nail type axles. A #44 bit is included.

To use the Pro-Body Tool, follow the instructions included with the kit, or the instructions below. Click on any of the small pictures to view a larger picture.

Instructions for use:

The Pro-Body Tool 3.0 is designed to accurately drill 3° negative camber rear axle holes along with correct height front axle holes. When paired with a correctly bent 2.5° positive camber front dominant/steer axle, it will give the car correct front to rear ride height to maintain 0° rear toe.

The required #43 or #44 drill bit is included.

1. Test fit the tool on the bottom of the body /block with the two ‘ears’ positioned on the sides of the body/ block.  If the tool will not fit onto the body /block, use coarse grit sandpaper to reduce the width of the block until the tool fits snuggly. If the tool is loose, tighten the fit by placing a piece of paper - folded as needed or a piece of painter’s tape - between each ‘ear’ of the tool and the body/ block.to center it in the tool. It is important when drilling canted axles that everything is centered so both rear holes drill identically.

2. Measure and mark the desired position of the axle holes on one side of the block. Extend the mark from the bottom of the body/block to the top of the body/ block using a square (or measure and mark near the bottom of the block and near the top of the block, and then join the line with a pencil and ruler). Holes for extended wheelbases are typically positioned 5/8” from the end of the block.

3. Repeat step 2 for the other end of the block. Then continue with step 4.

Position the Tool

4. Position the tool on the bottom of the car with the two ‘ears’ on the sides of the body/block.  Align the index mark on the tool with the line corresponding to the rear axle hole on the block.  Clamp the tool in place.

5. Firmly holding the body/block, position the drill bit in the hole, and slowly drill ¾” into the body/ block.

6. Without releasing the clamp, turn the tool and block over, and drill the second hole.

Drill the Front Axle Holes

8.   Transfer the line on the side of the block to the bottom of the block.

9. Rotate the tool 90° to use the hole on the bottom of the tool to drill the front axle holes. Position the tool on the side of the body/ block, and align the index mark on the tool with the line on the bottom of the block.  Make sure that the third hole on the tool is positioned near the bottom of the block.in the desired location, clamp in place, hold the body/block firmly and drill the axle hole.

10. Repeat this process for the opposite front side of the front. The 2.5° bent steer axle along with a straight axle in the opposing side will give a lifted effect for a proper 3-wheel touching car.

eBay is an extension of our marketing campaign, not a flea market for our "junk" products. Our "junk" gets thrown away. We do accept offers, but please do not insult us. Offering bids at 50% off is an insult and will not be answered. We are very proud of the quality of our products and will continue to do business this way. Our products are made in the USA with those funds staying in the USA, always!

Due to the rising costs associated with doing business on eBay, including higher than ordinary payment fees, we are forced to charge a higher price on our eBay offerings than you would be able to purchase them from our company elsewhere. We apologize for this but the costs have become prohibitive and we find it necessary to implement this policy. We find this necessary and want to advise all our eBay friends of this new policy to avoid any complaints in the future should you find our merchandise elsewhere on the internet at lower pricing. You placing an eBay order constitutes acceptance of our policy and these higher costs. Thank you for your understanding.

When placing an order via eBay, you will have many payment options at checkout including PayPal, PayPal Credit, Credit Card, Debit Card, Apple Pay & Google Pay.

Tracking / Order Status

  • For orders shipped by US Priority Mail, a delivery confirmation code should be emailed to you via eBay Website integration. This code can be used to determine if and when a package has been delivered. You can check the delivery status of the package at the US Postal Service Web Site

Combined Shipping

We are a firm believer in combined shipping costs to get you best price possible. However…. eBay system is horrible at combined shipping.

To request an invoice from me that combines shipping please use the Cart feature in eBay to add items until you are done. Then hit the Request total from seller button. If you don't do it this way eBay will force, you to make immediate payments for each item you buy and you will be charged excess postage in many cases. If you buy from me and this happens accidentally, I will refund any excess postage back to you with PayPal.

This works for Buy It Now auctions. On regular auctions you should still wait to pay until all your auctions are finished and then request an invoice from your seller. eBay always sends an Instant Invoice after you win an auction, but you should not pay immediately if you intend on combining shipping to save money. The link to contact the seller directly has changed. Now it is the "Contact seller" link which is under the seller's name upper right in the Seller information box.

We cannot guarantee that your pinewood derby car will win a trophy, but we can guarantee that you will be satisfied with our products. If you are not satisfied with one of our products, within 30 days of receipt of your shipment you may return the product for a refund of the price of the returned items. To minimize the risk of damage, all returns must be shipped in a box.

Returned products must be in original condition, and please include the original order number.

Return of Derby Worx® Tooling
We do not refund tools. Sorry, too many people use the item once and return it for whatever reason they make up. If you need to get your money back, please feel free to list on auction site or create your own amazon account. If Items are defective, we will help you get in contact with Derby Worx for further info on how to use the product or replacement by Derby Worx®.
