Rare A. Raynaud & Co Limoges, reissue of the “Tasse de Lumiere” (Cup of Light) Revolutionary Decor Mug and saucer originally made at the Manufacture Nationale de Sevres in 1794. The only know original of which, now resides at the Carnavalet Museum in Paris.

This reissue strictly conforms to the original and was made by A Raynaud on the occasion of the bicentenary of the revolution.

The cup and saucer is simply stunning, sumptuously hand painted with revolutionary motifs upon a cobalt blue ground within gilded frames that encircle both the cup and the saucer dish.

Both pieces are in exceptionally good condition having only ever been on display. There are no chips, cracks, crazing, restoration or gold loss.
