***** from my own Corgi Model Collection - Commercial Airplane *****
British Airways' Boeing 707s were inherited from BOAC when they merged with BEA on April 1, 1974. The first 15 of the type were ordered in 1956, and the 707 entered regular service between London and New York on three-weekly basis from June 6, 1960. By 1965, extra capacity necessitated the purchase of two 707-336Cs for cargo use.
G-AYLT was delivered new to BOAC on May 28, 1971. With the formatin of British Airways on April 1, 1974, G-AYLT was repainted in the livery depicted by this model. It has been with Simba Air Cargo of Kenya since 1995.
This sharp looking, very hard to find 1:144 model, made in 2001, comes with a Numbered Limited Edition Card, British Airways-marked staircase, a nice plastic display stand, and a set of optional landing gears. The model can be displayed in-flight or on-the-ground. There is a tiny chip on the top of the forward fuselage (see pic) even though it was received brand new and was never out of the box.
This model is very heavy,
and comes in a very big box (15in x 15in x 3in - see pic)! The box shows very minor shelf wear. This model will be packed carefully and shipped in a brand new commercial shipping box for protection.
All my models are kept in a smoke-free and pet-free home. This model has never been out of the box since I bought it except for taking the pictures. This model would make an excellent addition to your aviation/B707/British Airways diecast model collection!!
Scale model for adult collectors, not suitable for children under 14 years of age. Some models may contain fine detailed points or edges.
