I believe this rug to be an original handmade Afghan Mushwani Kilim.
Tribal Mushwani rugs are a textile art form from Western Afghanistan that feature a unique mixed weave structure. Flatweave and pile carpet weaving techniques are combined to create a relief surface detail as well as contrasting coloured patterns and motifs.

• Made from 100% hand-knotted wool.
• Traditional colours of rust red and dark navy shades with golden yellow highlights.
• Diagonal striped pattern. Repeat geometric border design.
• Ivory wool end fringes.
