The Man of Alaska Peter Trimble Rowe by Thomas Jenkins

Peter Trimble Rowe was the first American Bishop of Alaska from 1985-1942.

Inscribed by the author “To Mrs. Elizabeth M. Moliue… (sp) One of those faithful associates to whom this book is dedicated from the author with his warm personal regards – Thomas Jenkins Easterlide (sp) 1946”

From inside the book – “This story of the life and labors of Peter Trimble Rowe, first American Bishop of Alaska, is dedicated to all those, both earth and in paradise, who during the forty-six years of his episcopate were his helpers in the hard task to which the Church called and consecrated him in the year 1895.”

From the back dust jacket – Bishop Rowe spent 46 years as spiritual head of the Church in Alaska. And every year he was making Church history.

The author, Rt. Rev. Thomas Jenkins, retired as Bishop of Nevada in 1942 and devoted the entire next year to preparing for the Church this story of his friend.  Bishop Jenkins himself spent a good number of years in Alaska as a missionary under Bishop Rowe.
