You are bidding on a vintage September 1943 New York City theatrical play guide titled The Cast.  This publication boats that (as of 1943) that it is the oldest exclusive theatrical guide in the US.  It was published by H.P Hanaford and lists 26 different venues in and around Broadway.  It is a pretty fascinating read, especially for 1943.  I'm not a theater expert but some notable listings (including supporting cast roles) include:
  • Ethel Merman, starring in Something for the Boys (Alvin)
  • Ralph Bellamy, starring in Tomorrow the World (Ethel Barrymore)
  • Helen Hayes, starring in Harriet, co-starring Jane Seymour (Henry Miller)
  • Clifton Webb, starring in Blithe Spirit (Morosco)
  • Oklahoma! at the St. James (Oklahoma premiered in March 1943, and this guide is for September 1943)
  • Milton Berle, starring in Ziegfeld Follies (Winter Garden)
The guide measures 3" x 5 1/2" and is in very good condition with a minor crease on the back cover.

I use the US Postal Service and use priority mail to ensure quick delivery although size/weight can often be a deterrent due to a balloon fee on boxes over a certain size. Shipping costs are based on weight and distance from my home in Fairhaven, MA. In simplest terms, I ship priority mail unless it is a book (then I ship using media mail) or if the item is bigger than a breadbox or heavier than 5 lbs (unless I can fit it in a flat rate box).

I've been selling on Ebay since 1998 but this is not a full time job. I'm happy to answer all questions but please be aware that these questions are normally answered after I have returned home from work.  I encourage you to look at my other auctions for a wide variety of items. I often sell glass, pottery, books, art, and other unusual items one may find at yard sales and estate sales. Best of luck in your bidding and thanks for your time looking at my auction.
