A gorgeous classical Prima Ballerina costume in pink, lavender and gold for your 18 inch American Girl doll!

The fitted bodice is blush pink fabric, with a pink organza inset. I hand painted a design in rose glitter & gold glitter fabric paint to the bodice and basque. I added extra gems to the inset. The bodice has princess seams and a waist-enhancing front point, just like a real ballet costume. The back of the bodice closes with two snaps. The bodice is lined with white cotton.

The gorgeous fluffy tutu and fitted basque with attached panty is a classical Prima Ballerina pancake tutu. It is made with pink blush fabric and a hand painted design in rose and gold glitter. The tutu is made of tightly gathered tulle in rows of shiny blush pink, gold & lavender, with dainty frills close to the elastic leg openings. There are five rows of tulle, over 15 yards in total length! The basque waistline has a self-piping edge for a beautiful look between the bodice and tutu. The basque closes in back with two snaps that fits under the bodice.

I also made pretty arm ruffles. They are one layer of pink tulle and one layer of lavender tulle. I hand sewed a dainty pink ribbon rose hand painted with rose glitter to each one.

Rebecca is wearing a rhinestone tiara that is a small hair comb. I purchased it, but it is included with the costume.

Rebecca is wearing ballet slippers that look and fit just like real ones! I handmade them with a pretty blush pink satin like fabric. They have long, thin pink ribbon ties. There is an elastic cord that ties in a bow to assure a perfect fit! The bow is sewn so it won’t untie.

This is a gorgeous classical ballerina costume I hand made with a Lee & Pearl Prima Ballerina pattern for the 18 inch American Girl dolls. I also used the ballerina slippers pattern & the ballet accessories pattern from Lee and Pearl. It is a fitted outfit made to fit the newer 18 inch American Girl dolls, and dolls of similar shape and size. The snaps on the back can be moved if the outfit is too tight or too loose.

This is a gorgeous costume for the prima ballerina in your life! It is also a beautiful outfit for a collector’s display.
