Today we are excited to offer for sale an antique miniature cast iron cannon with carriage by Conestoga!
This charming miniature-scale "Big Bang" model features a military cannon crafted of cast iron and cold-painted black. It rests atop a metal four-wheel transport carriage, also painted black, with cast iron wheels painted in red and white. Though undated, this is a replica of a Civil War-era cannon, likely from the 1920s, when the Conestoga Big Bang company was formed and such miniature copies became popular.
Cannon presents good vintage condition, with normal patina and scuffs commensurate with age and storage. Paint on wheels has faded. Cannon moves smoothly on its hinge. There is some bowing to the front of the carriage. Please review all photos and ask questions before buying. This fantastic cannon would make a wonderful addition to any collector's curation, or look great on its own displayed on a shelf or desk. Fresh to the market!
