This listing is for "Old Snuff Chinese Bottle" by Henry Hitt.  This rare original 1945 Expanded 2nd Edition of Henry Hitt's unsurpassed reference on Chinese Snuff Bottles. This book is in good condition, the binding has been taped, (please see pictures) otherwise the book is in good condition.

Each book was hand made by Mr. Hitt. He did all of the illustrations and hand wrote all of the text. He also personally bound each accordion page copy in a variety of rice cloth covers. The cloth here is especially colorful. This copy also has the original spine. This is copy number 289, SIGNED by Mr. Hitt and includes the original post paid card also SIGNED.  In addition, I am including the SIGNED correspondence by Mr. Hitt with the purchaser.

Also included is the first "Snuff Bottle Analecta". Uniquely, based on other copies on-line, this copy also includes the original light green card dust jacket that has been taped due to a tear but it is in good condition.  All plates are included though some have come unglued. Except for Hitt's signature, there are no extraneous marks or writing inside. I found only two prices for other original copies.
In Freeman's 17 March 2012 Sale, Lot 83 sold for $1250 on a $400-600 estimate. That copy had a monochromatic cloth cover, no dust jacket, no supplement, no correspondence card. An unphotographed copy described as "Good", unnumbered, no supplement, no dust jacket, no correspondence card is currently offered at Back Creek Books for $300. A copy missing the spine, endorsed with a 1947 date, soiled with no dust jacket sold through Live Auctioneers in August 2013 for an undisclosed amount. Dimensions are 8 1/4" by 5 1/2". I can supply more photos upon request.

Please ask me if you have any questions.

Thanks for looking.
