Antique Art Nouveau Carved Marble/Alabaster Bust Statue Fisher Girl c.1900s

Description: Presented is a carved white marble or alabaster statue of a young lady wearing a wide brim hat, a neck handkerchief, and a fisherman's net on her shoulder. The bust statue of this kind were very popular in Europe during the Art Nouveau times. Judging by the details she is a fisher girl.

The statue is a very detailed carved work - a true artistic craftsmanship. It came to me from Germany and the previous owners claimed it was in the family before the war.

I cannot confirm it - it is very hard to date individually made hand-carved alabaster statue. It is in good condition with two losses to the hat's brim that do not spoil the image at all - they look like intentional.

It is 8.5
" tall mounted on wooden pedestal of some fine wood..

Condition: Good with minpor losses to the hat Year: 1900-s - 1930s
Height: 8.5 in.
Material: White marble or alaster
