Description: Presented is a carved white marble or alabaster statue of a young lady wearing a wide brim hat, a neck handkerchief, and a fisherman's net on her shoulder. The bust statue of this kind were very popular in Europe during the Art Nouveau times. Judging by the details she is a fisher girl.
The statue is a very detailed carved work - a true artistic craftsmanship. It came to me from Germany and the previous owners claimed it was in the family before the war.
I cannot confirm it - it is very hard to date individually made hand-carved alabaster statue. It is in good condition with two losses to the hat's brim that do not spoil the image at all - they look like intentional.
It is 8.5" tall mounted on wooden pedestal of some fine wood..
