COPPER CARBONATE ~ 50 TO 500 GRAMS ~ CERAMICS ~ POTTERY ~ GLAZE

Copper carbonate 3-7% will give an apple green colour under neutral or oxidising conditions. Yellow-greens in potash glaze, Blue-greens in barium glaze. If used in alkaline glazes it will give a turquoise blue colour. Fired under reduction it creates a copper red or sang de-boeuf.  

Be careful if adding to low solubility glazes, it causes the solubility of the lead to be greatly increased. Strong flux.

• Product is supplied in re-sealable plastic bags.

This substance is harmful by inhalation, harmful if swallowed, irritating to eyes and irritating to the respiratory system.

• Avoid contact with skin if possible.
• Wash hands after use.
• Avoid the generation of dust.
• Keep away from food / drink and do not eat or drink when using the material.
• Use good workshop hygiene practices.
