The Fecker Brewing Company was started in 1890 by Col. Ernest Fecker, opening a larger plant at 329 E. North St. in Danville, IL in 1903.  The brewery produced a variety of products including Fecker’s Pilsener Beer. The firm survived Prohibition by selling soda, ice, and 0.5% alcoholic beer (which was legal during Prohibition). The building was sold to the Lauhoff Grain Co. in 1940. Part of its brewery was among the structures that were Lauhoff Grain Co. from the mid 1940’s and still stands today as Bunge, Inc. The picture above is of the pre-Prohibition brewery and is not part of this offer but shows something of the company.

This is a round bottle that measures 9.25 x 2.25 inches (24 x 6.5 cm) and dates from before Prohibition, perhaps from as early as around 1900. There are some scratches due to wear as noted above it and is mostly clear with small bubbles. The scratches give this heavy bottle a nice patina. A must for any Midwestern antique bottle collector, Indianian collectors, or for that perfect addition to an antique beer bottle collection.
