You are bidding on a large, very rare original antique engraving from an 1860s French illustrated journal.
It depicts Russian men hinting wolves in winter. THey shoot off the back of their horse-drawn sleigh as three horses pull them at a gallop. A huge pack -- over 25 wolves chase them.
Also included with the print is a second page from the same journal with an 14-inch article. The article starts on the second page and ends on the back of the print. It is in French, but free computer translation programs make it easy to translate.
It is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture fills most of the page, with a French caption below.
The page is in excellent condition for its age. There is text/photos on the back of the print. See scan for an accurate view of the condition.
