VENICE - VIEW OF SAINT MARK'S SQUARE. MIXED MEDIA PAINTING. EVE DISHER.

Beautiful painting made in a mixed technique of oil pastels and watercolor by Eve Disher (1984-1991).

The artist, born in London, specialized mainly in portraits. At some stage in her life, she travelled a lot, and these journeys resulted in just such beautiful paintings as this one.

For many years, she shared a studio with Vera Cuningham, whose work influenced her style.

In this case, however, one can rather talk about the influence of the Impressionists.

The painting is in a beautiful, gilded, glazed frame.

Both the painting and the frame have been cleaned and 'refreshed'.
