We are offering offering Ten 1950's Photographs of Well-known, Successful Actresses.  5" x 7".  Seven of the photos have a matte finish which gives them a muted softness; three are B&W glossy.  EACH PHOTOGRAPH COMES IN ITS INDIVIDUAL TOP LOADER.

1.) Lana Turner - (1921-1995) - was an American actress who enjoyed a 50-year career as a film star and a pin-up girl.  In the mid-1940's she was one of the highest paid actresses in the United States, and one of MGM's biggest stars.  She began her career in the 1930's landing small parts in films.  Because of Turner's spectacular beauty and her superb acting ability, she was able to get very good roles during the 1940's.  The part she played as the scheming husband-killer in The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946), established her as a serious dramatic actress.  Her popularity continued through the 1950's in dramas such as The Bad and the Beautiful (1952), and Peyton Place (1957) for which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress.  The 1959 film Imitation of Life was one of the greatest commercial successes of her career.  CONDITION:  Absolutely Beautiful!

2.) Jean Simmons - (1929-2010) - was a British actress who appeared in many films in Britain during and after World War II, followed by many Hollywood movies from 1948 onward.  Simmons won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for Guys and Dolls (1955).  She appeared in The Robe in 1953, The Big Country in 1958, Elmer Gantry in 1960, and Spartacus in 1960.  In 1954 Simmons played opposite Marlon Brando, who played Napoleon Bonaparte, in the film Desiree.  Simmons won an Emmy Award for the TV miniseries The Thorn Birds in 1983.  In the 1970's and 80's Simmons focused on stage and television acting.  CONDITION: Beautiful!

3.) Vera Miles - (Born 1929-age 91) - is an American actress who worked under various studios throughout her career.  She starred in the films The Rose Bowl (1952), Tarzan's Hidden Jungle (1955), The Searchers (1956), The Wrong Man (1956), and the Alfred Hitchcock film, Psycho (1960).  During the 1960's, Miles was featured in many other movies, and appeared on popular TV shows, TV movies and in different TV series during the 1970's and 80's.  CONDITION:  Photo is a B&W glossy in Beautiful Condition.

4.) Myrna Loy - (1905-1993) - was an American film, TV and stage actress who began her film career in the 1920's.  She was originally cast in exotic roles often as a woman of Asian descent.  After the advent of sound, she was portrayed as a wholesome American woman in films such as The Thin Man (1934), a role that continued for five more films.  Loy's career slowed in the 1940's, and she appeared in only a few films in the 1950's.  In 1960 she starred in Midnight Lace, and then mostly in TV movies in the 1970's.  CONDITION: Absolutely Beautiful!

5.) Shelly Winters - (1920-2006) - was an American actress whose career spanned seven decades.  She won Academy Awards for The Diary of Anne Frank and A Patch of Blue.  Winters starred in over 75 films playing against top movie stars, in dozens of stage productions, and scores of TV movies.  Not a classical beauty, Winters claimed that her acting, wit and "chutzpah" gave her a love life that rivaled Marilyn Monroe's.  Her alleged "conquests" included William Holden, Sean Connery, Burt Lancaster, Errol Flynn and Marlon Brando.  CONDITION: Absolutely Beautiful.

6.) Patricia Neal - (1926-2010) - was an American actress of stage and film who made her film debut in 1949.  She is best known for her roles as a World War II widow in The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), a radio journalist in A Face in the Crowd (1957), the wealthy matron, Emily Eustace Failenson, in Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961, and the worn out housekeeper in Hud (1963 for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress.  She is also a Golden Globe and Tony Award recipient.  Throughout the 1950's and 1960's Neal starred in numerous films alongside major leading men.  She also starred in TV movies in the 1970's and appeared in numerous television series.  CONDITION: Absolutely Beautiful!

7.) June Lockhart - (Born 1925-age 95) - is an American actress whose career was primarily in 1950's and 60's television, but she also starred in movies.  She was best known for playing Ruth Martin, Timmy's mom, in the TV series Lassie  (1958-1964), and also as Maureen Robinson in the TV series Lost in Space.  Her first film performance as a child was in the classic Christmas movie A Christmas Carol in 1938.  Other films included Meet Me in St. Louis; Sergeant York; All This, and Heaven, Too; The Yearling and She-Wolf of London.  In the late 1950's Lockhart starred in several TV westerns.  She was also a regular on the ABC soap opera General Hospital during the 1980's and 90's.  Lockhart starred in episodes of Full House, Magnum P.I., Las Vegas, and in episodes of Cold Case and Grey's Anatomy.  CONDITION: Absolutely Beautiful!

8.) Arlene Dahl - (Born 1925-age 95) - is an American retired actress and former MGM star who achieved fame in the 1950's.  Of Norwegian descent, Dahl exhibited an air of femininity and grace on the screen and was considered to be one of the most beautiful actresses of that period.  Her first film with MGM was The Bride Goes Wild (1948).  Her beauty could be considered to be liability in some ways, as it limited her film roles.  Dahl's performance in The Reign of Terror (1949) required some acting ability and she actually performed quite well.  Her other films during the 1950's were Three Little Words (1950), Woman's World (1954), Slightly Scarlet (1956), and Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959).  After this, Dahl founded Arlene Dahl Enterprises marketing lingerie and cosmetics.  Dahl was married six times with one of her husbands being actor Fernando Lamas.  She is the mother of actor Lorenzo Lamas.  CONDITION: Absolutely Beautiful!

9.) Nancy Gates - (1926-2019) - was an American film and TV actress.  Contracted with RKO, she starred in the movie Hitler's Children in 1943.  For a time, she performed in B movies - Western or Sci-fi.  Then she began to get lead roles as the heroine, starring in Check Your Guns (1948) and several other films over the next 10 years.  She performed in 34 films and serials, retiring in 1969.  Gates had a total of 55 television appearances in: Maverick, Perry Mason, Wagon Train, Bonanza, Rawhide, Laramie, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater, and many others.  CONDITION:  Photo is a B&W glossy in Beautiful Condition.

10.) Martha Hyer - (1924-2014) - was an American actress who performed in dozens of films in the 1940's, 50's and 60's.  She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the 1958 film Some Came Running. During her career she performed alongside big name stars such as Rock Hudson, Doris Day, Jane Wyman, William Holden, Tony Curtis, Cary Grant, Joan Crawford, Richard Burton, Robert Mitchum, and others.  By 1964, Hyer worked mainly in television and European and American B movies.  In 1966 she did, however, appear in The Chase with Marlon Brando and Robert Redford.  At the age of 50 Hyer retired from acting.  CONDITION: Photo is a B&W glossy in Beautiful Condition.
