This listing is for one stainless steel cremation pendant, as seen in the first photo. The pendant has an empty chamber that is designed to hold the ashes of your beloved pet upon his or her passing. This listing is for the pendant only, to be put on your own necklace or key ring. Some people like to buy the pendant only to use these on their own necklace chains or key chains, or for other creative uses. Others want the matching necklace or key ring to come with it so that they don't have to shop around for one. If you want it to come with a chain or ring, we have those available in different section of my store. You can see what it looks like on key rings or chains by scrolling through the photos, but again, this is for the PENDANT ONLY.
The pendant is about 27mm or a little over an inch tall. The width is about 17mm (about 11/16 inch) across the flat bottom. This pendant can stand alone on a shelf, etc. The back is flat and could be engraved, although we do not offer this service ourselves. Most of your local jewelry stores will offer this service for a small fee. We offer a large variety of pendant urns to choose from, so feel free to browse around in our store to make sure you select your favorite.
PLEASE NOTE: This style of pendant only holds a tiny touch of ashes! It is more of a beautiful symbolic memorial piece for you to wear in memory of your beloved pet. It is not hollow. The chamber under the screw is tiny - only a small bit of ashes can fit inside and the rest is solid. A small dot of ash is all that is needed to represent your pet. If you are looking for a pendant that holds a larger amount of ashes, this is not the right pendant for you. I have plenty of other styles in my store, and the larger vials hold the most. This, however, is one of my most elegant and stunning pendants of all, and it makes a lovely, wearable tribute to your beloved dog.
The pendant can be filled using tweezers or a tiny funnel. If you do not have a funnel, you can make one out of a sheet of paper, and it will work just fine. First, unscrew the "door" on the side of the pendant with your fingernail or a tiny little flat head screwdriver, like one used for eyeglasses. Place the tip of the funnel into the hole of the chamber. Add a small bit of ashes to the funnel, and carefully tap the funnel until the chamber is filled. A toothpick can be used to guide the ashes, if needed. With tweezers, just pinch a small amount of ash and the place it into the opening. Be sure to screw the cap back on tightly (but be careful not to over-tighten). Then, the pendant can be worn next to your heart at all times. To form a permanent seal, you can use a touch of metal-to-metal adhesive.
Stainless steel is extremely durable and can be worn even during bathing. This includes the necklace chain, which will not rust, tarnish, or discolor no matter how many times you get it wet. Again, if you are going to be wearing it or using it as a key chain, be sure to seal it with a touch of superglue. Jostling can cause unsealed pendants to open unexpectedly and spill ashes. You can clean the pendant with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth. It will not damage any part of the pendant.
The pendant will come sealed in a tiny plastic zip-loc bag, with a little card with information about RescueArtWorks! A portion of the proceeds goes directly towards helping homeless animals find their way to new loving homes. It's a great way to honor your own dog's life.

Buyers will receive one pendant urn sealed in a little plastic zip-loc bag, which will be mailed in a small padded mailing envelope. Items are mailed through the United States Postal Service, using First Class shipping, and normally arrive within a week after purchase within the US, but this is NOT a guarantee!! Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for delays caused by the USPS, and they do happen from time to time. International shipping takes longer, of course. Canadian orders take 1-2 weeks on average and overseas orders are usually 3-4 weeks. Every now and again a package will get held up in customs and take longer. We have no explanation for the variance, nor any control over it, so please do not order if you need it by a certain deadline, unless you are willing to upgrade to USPS Priority or Priority Express shipping (USA only). International Priority may still take 3 weeks.
